Magnificent Large Antique Persian Rug – 1940’s

This magnificent, highly decorative rug is an antique Persian Rug and hails from the Persian Province of Kerman. Persian rugs can be typically identified by region. This large rug is extremely colourful with a large cream medallion, the wool is extremely soft and luxurious. This is a handmade Persian antique and is over 80 years old. The pattern expanding from the medallion is intricate with hints of pink, navy, red, white and cream. The repeating floral pattern is extremely precise, once again this is a strong feature of antique area rugs. This impressive work of art showcases why Persian rugs are known as some of the best in the world. The border is also highly detailed. The repeating patterns consist of flowers in various sizes, interwoven with vines. The wool is extremely soft to the touch. This handmade antique rug takes approximately one year to create. This is a fantastic example of the skill and experience needed to created these incredible rugs. This is made from 100% wool. This rug is large and is 362cm x 256cm.
