Kazak Large Tribal Rug – Afghanistan

This large tribal rug is made in Afghanistan by the Kazak family (sometimes spelt Kazzaq). Kazak rugs are renowned for their unique hand-knotted patterns with an emphasis on stunning colour schemes and tribal patterns. The shades used in this rug are pretty shades of light blue, light grey, cream, navy and light maroon. The repeating floral design is bold and would make an impact in any room.

This large Kazak Rug is made from 100% wool and is entirely made by hand. The hand-knotting process takes approximately 8 months to create. The rug size is large and measures 294cm x 200cm. The Kazak family are among some of the best rug makers in Afghanistan, Kazak rug symbols are most often floral, geometric compositions and tribal patterns some of which include rosettes, medallions, diamonds as well as nature scenes including birds and trees. These Kazak rugs are rare. The dyes used in these Kazak rugs are 100% natural and are derived from nature.
